Each of my sculptures is the expression of an idea I want to share with others. In the process of creating a new artwork there are always possibilities that have to be left behind. It's just not possible for me to pack everything into a single artwork. That's why I work in themes. They give me room to continue/ expand / iterate on an idea by introducing possibilities not captured in previous pieces

Traditional object-based sculptors refer to their studies as maquettes. Before the digital age, studies like the one seen here were kept as part of a sculptors' private collection and used as references for future sculptures.

Contrary to that tradition, I share my maquettes with art lovers like you. These fully realized works are part of a series that show you some of the possibilities I've considered within a particular theme. Their a glimpse into the the mind of the artist. 'Balance' is one of my favorites themes to explore.
